Steven C. Chang
Attorney
Attorney Steven C. Chang’s background, experience, and commitment to the local community make him one of the premier elder law attorneys in Honolulu.
Attorney Steven C. Chang is recognized as one of Honolulu’s premier elder law and estate planning attorneys, combining strong financial acumen with deep legal expertise and a commitment to serving Hawaii’s families.
Mr. Chang graduated magna cum laude from St. John’s University with a degree in finance before earning his law degree from St. John’s, where he again achieved high academic honors. He often notes that his finance background taught him how to work effectively with numbers, while law school prepared him to make the law work for people—two skills that are essential in elder law and estate planning.
Early in his career, Mr. Chang worked at the Honolulu Legal Aid Society, where he focused on wrongful foreclosure cases and saw firsthand the critical importance of proactive planning. He later practiced litigation at a Honolulu law firm before founding Estate Planning America, where he now devotes his practice to helping families protect their legacies and plan for the future.
What truly sets Mr. Chang apart is his dedication to accessibility and community. He understands that legal services can feel out of reach for many families, so he regularly meets with clients in the comfort of their own homes when needed. His clients value his thoughtful approach, personal attention, and commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes.
Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Chang gives back to the community through his volunteer work with Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawai‘i and as a mentor with the Small Business Association, supporting both youth development and local entrepreneurship.
Mr. Chang is an active member of the American Bar Association (ABA) and the Hawai‘i State Bar Association (HSBA). Within these organizations, he belongs to:
